Shut Your Pie Hole: A boozy concoction that tastes like cherry pie.
All it takes is a few cocktails and I lose the ability to filter my thoughts. I call it Loose Lip Syndrome. Squirrel calls it embarrassing. After about 3 cocktails, I turn in to my 2-year old niece in the cart at the Walmart pointing at the old lady in the moo-moo, shouting “Why is she wearing a shower curtain?”
It’s no longer cute when you’re in your 30’s.
You know what else isn’t cute in your 30’s… Hangovers. I used to be able to pop a few Advil and eat something greasy to relieve my hangover symptoms. That’s no longer the case. If I drink too much now (which I avoid at all costs), the bed and I become best friends the entire next day. I need whatever room I’m recovering in to be pitch dark, no one talk to me, and food is not an option.
Which is precisely why I now limit myself to 2 cocktails.
This cherry pie cocktail is aptly named Shut Your Pie Hole for all of those moments you wish you could take back the next day.
This fizzy cocktail is slightly sweet with a major kick of booze. I combined cherry-infused whiskey with good-quality amaretto, bourbon, and a splash of club soda.
Put your big girl (or boy) panties on and bottoms up!

Ingredients:
- 1 ounce cherry-infused whiskey
- 1/2 ounce amaretto
- 1/4 ounce bourbon
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- 1/4 teaspoon grenadine
- 2 ounces club soda
Directions:
- Combine whiskey, amaretto, bourbon, pineapple, and grenadine in the cup of a cocktail shaker. Add a scoop of ice and give the mixture a few vigorous shakes.
- Transfer the mixture to a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with club soda and garnish with a few maraschino or morello cherries and squeeze of lime juice.
