Why Egarmi?

Well, to put it simply, I’m a complete disaster in the kitchen. Don’t believe me? Just ask my parents; they’ll tell you just how messy I really am. Quite frankly, it’s a bit embarrassing.

When I was brainstorming names for the site, I kept coming back to Egarmi. When I mentioned the title to my husband and parents, they all agreed that the name was a perfect match and accurate description of the girl who never fails to wreck a kitchen.

When I’m not making a mess in my own kitchen, I can often be found disrupting the cleanliness of my parents’ kitchen, usually in the form of flour-bombings, marinara splatters, and cocktail-shaker explosions.

The look on my dad’s face when he spots me in his kitchen gathering ingredients for a recipe is priceless. It’s a look of utter panic followed by, “Don’t you mess up my stove!” He is obsessed with his stove. As I was preparing mac and cheese (his favorite), the cheese sauce accidentally bubbled over and adhered to the burner. I thought the man was going to have a heart attack.

Each day I enter my kitchen, I live up to my name.

My kitchen receives daily abuse. If you walk through barefoot, you’ll most likely stick to the floor. If I’m using an immersion blender, do yourself a favor and stand back. Caution, splatters!

Warning: Open the cabinets at your own risk. I have been hit in the head numerous times by a rogue spice jar. I really pack it in, so do yourself a favor and jump back a step before opening any of the cabinets.

Cocoa powder has been known to do multiple flips before exploding mid-air.

Mixers Gone Wild is going to be the next hit series.
